Most safety training in Canada falls into one of two categories: generic courses that satisfy a regulator but teach nothing about implementation, or expensive in-person training that produces a certificate and little else.
OMHAS Academy is the closed training environment built specifically to operate inside the OMHAS safety management system framework. Every course is engineered around an OMHAS module. The training does not just teach a worker what the regulation says. It teaches the worker how the regulation operates inside their company, how to use the inspection checklists their employer relies on, how to complete the documentation their employer needs, and how to actually do the work safely.
The result is a workforce that does not just know the rules. The workforce knows the system.
When a worker completes the Lift Truck course, they do not just learn lift truck safety. They learn how the Lift Truck module operates inside their own safety management system. They learn how to use the pre-shift inspections. They learn how to use the maintenance inspections. They learn how to document everything correctly.
The course and the module work as one, so training directly supports the documentation and procedures your workers will actually use on the job.
OMHAS courses are designed around a province-neutral framework that aligns with the common safety requirements found across Canadian jurisdictions, and the validation expectations of major prequalification platforms. They are not written to the minimum standard of one jurisdiction. They are written to the higher standard required by validators, contractor prequalification reviewers, and provincial safety excellence programs.
Every OMHAS Academy certificate carries a QR code that links to a verification page. An external auditor, a platform reviewer, or a client procurement officer can scan the code and confirm the certificate is real, current, and matches the worker named on it. Verification occurs in real time through the OMHAS Academy database. No phone call to OMHAS required. No email exchange. The certificate verifies itself.
Training records are stored, organized, and retrievable. When a validator, prequalification platform reviewer, or investigator asks for documented training evidence, the records are organized and retrievable in one place. Not buried in scattered files. Not lost in personal email threads.
Every OMHAS Academy certification is issued with a defined renewal period. Most certifications currently renew every 18 months. This is intentional. A safety certification that never expires becomes a piece of paper. Mandatory renewal forces ongoing competency. Employers know their workforce is current. Validators know the evidence is real.
Employer courses teach the system architecture and the legal accountability that comes with being a Canadian employer. Management courses teach oversight responsibility, supervision, and program administration. Supervisor courses teach enforcement, direction, and the supervisor’s specific legal duties. Worker courses teach the procedures, the appendices, and the safe work practices for the job. The same module, taught at four different depths, for four different audiences.
OMHAS Academy holds a growing library of worker courses, supervisor courses, employer courses, management courses, program implementation courses, and module-specific training. The catalogue is not a static collection. It expands continuously as new OMHAS modules are released, as regulations change, and as client operations introduce new training needs. Courses are reviewed and updated as legislation evolves.
OMHAS Academy is a closed environment. Access is not open to the public. Access to OMHAS Academy is available through three pathways, depending on your organization’s needs and stage.
Every maintenance client receives complete Academy access, regardless of employee count. The training is part of the ongoing maintenance ecosystem and produces the documented implementation evidence validators and prequalification platforms want to see.
Many organizations begin with Academy training and later expand into Program Maintenance, prequalification preparation, or a complete OMHAS management system as their operations grow.
OMHAS Academy is not a shortcut. A worker who completes an Academy course has trained, and the certificate proves it. However, training alone does not produce a defensible safety program. Training is one essential component of a complete system.
